Garrett L. George - Faith, Resilience, and Redemption

"You can not change what you don't acknowledge"

  -Dr. Phil McGraw

Born in October 1974 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Garrett L. George’s life has been a remarkable journey of transformation. What began as a childhood shaped by family turmoil and emotional challenges evolved into a powerful story of resilience, healing, and service. Dividing his youth between Oklahoma and Texas, Garrett navigated the complexities of his parents' divorce and endured the hardships of life at a Boys Ranch, where he faced loneliness, physical abuse, and battled suicidal thoughts.

In his early adult years, Garrett was hit by a devastating tragedy—the murder-suicide of a close friend and his wife. This profound loss sent him spiraling into addiction, leaving him struggling to find meaning amid grief. His darkest chapter came in 2002, when a Drug Task Force raided his home in Amarillo, Texas. But out of this rock-bottom moment, Garrett sought spiritual help, leading him to a life-changing encounter during a prophetic church service—a spark that ignited the first steps of his recovery.

Determined to rebuild his life, Garrett entered the real estate industry with Coldwell Banker. It was there that his journey of service truly began, as he was encouraged by colleagues to represent the brokerage in a United Way campaign. His desire to give back deepened further on a mission trip to Managua, Nicaragua, where he worked with families living in extreme poverty—a humbling experience that left a lasting mark on his heart.

In 2008, Garrett moved to Austin, Texas, to pursue a career in construction sales, but his passion for serving others continued to grow. The turning point came in 2009 on a flight to Las Vegas, where he met a group of car crash survivors and Wounded Veterans competing in a wheelchair basketball tournament. One individual’s story, marked by years of struggle and perseverance, inspired Garrett to take action. What began as a personal fundraising effort to provide an all-terrain wheelchair far exceeded expectations, with the surplus funds being donated to Trinity Oaks in San Antonio. This partnership led to Garrett serving as the Dream Trips Coordinator for six years, organizing outdoor adventures for terminally ill individuals, Combat Wounded Veterans, Gold Star Families, and those with final hunting wishes.

Since 2013, Garrett has worked alongside numerous nonprofits, raising awareness and hundreds of thousands of dollars, directly impacting countless lives. His work reflects his belief in the power of community, faith, and human connection to uplift those facing profound challenges.

Today, Garrett shares his story as a public speaker, emphasizing themes of faith, resilience, and personal transformation. His journey from addiction and loss to healing and purpose is a testament to redemption, proving that even the darkest moments can give way to light. Through his continued service and motivational speaking, Garrett offers hope to those struggling, reminding us all of the strength that comes from community, the importance of giving back, and the power of personal growth.

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20

Monty Heath

Monty Heath began his life of service at 18 when he entered Navy SEAL training. During the attacks of September 11, he was in the Naval Special Warfare Development Group’s selection pipeline and soon deployed repeatedly to Afghanistan in defense of our nation. He was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat Valor twice for his leadership and actions in combat.

After his honorable discharge, Monty continued serving in high-impact roles within the defense contracting sector, managing complex security and training operations across the United States, Africa, and Japan. His work included supporting the U.S. Navy SEAL Mentorship and Preparatory Programs and leading the development of an anti-terrorism unit in Sub-Saharan Africa under a Department of Defense contract. He later directed large-scale executive protection operations for American business leaders, overseeing multi-team, multi-location programs.

Despite this success, Monty experienced the same challenge many veterans face — the search for renewed purpose beyond the uniform.

That journey led him to manage a 614,000-acre wild mustang sanctuary in the American West, where volunteering as a Special Olympics ski instructor transformed his life and set the course for more than a decade of nonprofit leadership. Since then, he has led programs serving veterans living with post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries, helping them rediscover connection, resilience, and hope through shared experience and community.

Monty has also been directly involved in national suicide-prevention fundraising efforts. In 2022, after 3,400 miles of training, he and his team cycled 3,070 miles across America in just over seven days, raising critical funding and awareness for veteran and first responder mental health.

Today, Monty is a devoted father and husband, endurance athlete, coach, and nationally recognized keynote speaker who uses his platform to inspire purpose, strengthen communities, and expand mission impact.
